Visitors are welcome Monday through Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. when both the Shrine and Gift Shop are open to the public. Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 11:30 A.M. in the chapel. If you would like more information on pilgrimages, click here. Our staff is available to groups of 20 or more for special tours, programs and days of reflection with Mass and lunch included. The National Shrine of St. Therese sits peacefully in Darien, Illinois on a 50-acre estate owned and operated by the Carmelites. It is only 40 minutes away from O'Hare International Airport, 30 minutes away from Midway Airport in Chicago, and a 20 mile drive from downtown Chicago.
